Fake Military Personnel Assault Cyclist in Chornomorsk

In Chornomorsk, Odessa region, three members of a civic organization posing as military personnel attacked a 41-year-old cyclist, demanding his documents. The police have already charged the assailants.

Incident details: "On the highway near Chornomorsk, three young men in military uniforms blocked the cyclist's path, presented themselves as employees of the territorial recruitment center, and began demanding documents while physically assaulting him."

It has been reported that the attackers have no affiliation with the military, yet they forced the victim into their car.

The cyclist managed to call the emergency number 102. Police quickly located him and found that the attackers were members of a local civic organization without the authority to carry out mobilization activities.

Authorities seized the vehicle used in the incident, membership cards of the civic organization, and other evidence relevant to the investigation from the suspects aged 22, 25, and 27.

They face charges of unlawfully assuming authority and illegally depriving a person of liberty, accompanied by violence. If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
