Ukrainian Junior Hockey Team Triumphs at International Tournament

The Ukrainian juniors, including a hockey player from Odesa, shined at the international three-nation tournament. This event in Austria served as a preparation stage for the World Championship in ice hockey for players under 18 in Division 1A.

Representing Ukraine was Ilya Bobrov, a graduate of the «Dzhinistra» sports school in Odesa, who is the main goalie for the U18 national team.

Ukraine faced off against Denmark and the host team, Austria, in this tournament.

In their first match, Ukraine secured a 3:0 victory over Denmark.

The Odesa goalie blocked 25 shots, achieving a «shutout» match.

In the second match, the Ukrainians confidently defeated Austria with a score of 7:1.

Ilya Bobrov and his coach Ruslan Korop were awarded honorary certificates from the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council for their outstanding sports achievements at the «Sports Capital» award ceremony in 2025.
