Nikita Sheremet Sets New Junior World Record in Swimming

Odesa's Nikita Sheremet, representing the Ukrainian national team, achieved a junior world record during the final relay of the 4x50 freestyle at the European Swimming Championships, clocking an impressive 20.84.

This success at the European Short Course Swimming Championships (25m) in Lublin continues Nikita's streak of record-breaking achievements in 2025.

In August, at the Junior World Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania, he claimed gold in the 50m freestyle with a time of 21.75 (50m pool), matching the junior world record set by American Michael Andrew and establishing new competition and national records.

Nikita Sheremet is a product of the Odesa Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve 'Dynamo' in swimming. He is coached by Alla Timofeeva and Oleksandra Kurbanova.
