Angelika Terliuga: Bronze Medal at the World Karate Championship
From November 27 to 30, the World Karate Championship took place in Cairo, Egypt, featuring 384 athletes (192 men and 192 women) from 88 countries.
Ukrainian karate star Angelika Terliuga achieved a bronze medal in the under 55 kg weight category.
After a quarterfinal loss to Egyptian athlete Ahlam Youssef (3:8), Angelika had the opportunity to compete for bronze since her opponent reached the finals. In the bronze medal match, she faced Valentina Toro Meneses from Chile (ranked 2nd in the WKF world standings) and won with a score of 6:4, showcasing her determination, skill, and unwavering willpower.
This year, following the birth of her child, Angelika Terliuga has already demonstrated her high caliber by winning a silver medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China.
