Artistic Gymnastics in Odesa: Young Athletes Shine

Artistic gymnastics has become increasingly popular among young girls in Odesa, as they start training in this sport from an early age under the guidance of experienced coaches from the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports Schools No. 1, No. 5, and the Specialized Children and Youth Olympic Reserve Sports School «Chornomorets».

In total, over 330 young gymnasts practice at these institutions, many of whom are achieving impressive results in competitions at various levels.

For instance, Odesa athletes performed excellently at the National Artistic Gymnastics Tournament «Crimson Autumn» held in memory of coach Luk'yanchuk L.V., which took place in Odesa from October 18 to 20.

In the masters' category, first places were secured by Angelina Zhdanova from «Chornomorets» and Valeria Kyrylova and Yulia Bondarchuk from Sports School No. 5.

Additionally, the teams from Sports School No. 5 excelled in group exercises, winning 1 gold and 2 silver medals, while the «Chornomorets» team also earned a gold medal.

Coaches Angela Vasylenko and Yana Chupryna prepared the athletes for the tournament.

In total, more than 350 young gymnasts from Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa participated, competing in 5 categories.
