Teacher Training for the New “Defense of Ukraine” Course

In January of this year, educators who will teach the course «Defense of Ukraine» participated in a practical seminar on shooting training hosted by the public organization «Stvol».

The teachers received both theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the use of various types of firearms from professional instructors.

During the seminar, participants honed their skills in safety measures, teaching methods for shooting, and working with specialized equipment and combat weapons.

The event was organized by the Municipal Institution «Odesa City Center for Military-Patriotic Education» with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council.

An open lesson for the course «Defense of Ukraine» was conducted at Odesa Lyceum No. 1 named after A.P. Bystrynia. The lesson was led by honored teacher of Ukraine Oleg Denysov.

The new model curriculum «Defense of Ukraine. Integrated Course» aims to foster patriotic consciousness and develop practical skills for life preservation. Its uniqueness lies in providing a unified content for all students, ensuring equal opportunities in acquiring essential skills.

Thanks to the updated “Defense of Ukraine” program, high school students will be able to:

- learn about different types of drones and their applications; 

- provide first aid in combat situations;

- shoot with firearms;

- understand what information warfare is and how to avoid falling victim to enemy information-psychological operations (IPSO).
