New Initiative 'Cup of Kindness' in Odessa's Educational Institutions

02 October 2024

A new initiative called 'Cup of Kindness' has been launched in Odessa's schools.

Started last year by the city’s Department of Education, this initiative has received warm support from Odessa residents and has become a new tradition in our city.

At school fairs, you can purchase delicious treats made with love by our students, parents, and teachers.

Every cup of coffee ordered is not just a tasty drink, but a contribution to our collective victory.

“Coffee from educators has once again united us around a common goal – to support those who defend our country daily. All funds raised from this initiative will be directed to the needs of the Armed Forces, so our soldiers feel our gratitude,” said Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.

The Director of the Department of Education, Olena Bujnevych, expressed her gratitude for the incredible support, noting that the 'Cup of Kindness' initiative raised almost 1.7 million hryvnias in just a few days.

Additionally, treats and gifts from children were given to veterans undergoing rehabilitation.

In Odessa, rehabilitation departments operate in almost all city hospitals, but inpatient care is only part of the long process of integrating veterans into civilian life. Next comes adaptive sports, professional retraining, or starting a business that allows individuals with disabilities to meet their own and their families' needs.
