Lessons of Tolerance in Odesa

As part of the nationwide initiative «Barrier-Free», supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Office of the First Lady, tolerance lessons are being conducted in educational institutions in Odesa.

These lessons aim to foster a culture of respect and mutual assistance among children and have already taken place in schools within the Peresyp district.

During the sessions, students discussed the concept of tolerance, learned to understand the needs of people with disabilities, elderly individuals, and parents with small children. They engaged in interactive tasks, watched videos, participated in discussions, and role-playing games.

Teachers placed special emphasis on developing empathy and practical skills for inclusive behavior, teaching how to offer help, avoid stereotypes, and make spaces more friendly and accessible.

First-grade students received a notebook titled «Life Without Barriers».

Such initiatives help cultivate a generation of youth that embraces diversity, values human dignity, and creates an atmosphere of respect and mutual support. Students learn to notice and support each other, which will help them build a society of equal opportunities in the future.
