Mayor's Greetings on Knowledge Day
The mayor of Odesa addressed students and educators with greetings on September 1:
"September 1 is always a significant day. Millions of children sit at their desks, open their notebooks, and begin a new chapter in their lives. Even now, in the hardest of times, this tradition continues. I want to deeply honor our teachers. You are true heroes. You conduct lessons amidst sirens, in shelters, online, often under difficult conditions. Yet, you continue to teach because you know that knowledge is our future. You are shaping a generation that will rebuild and develop Ukraine. I am proud of our children. They show incredible strength - the will to learn despite everything. They open their textbooks during alerts, engage in online classes, study in shelters, and resume their learning in classrooms after the all-clear. You prove to us all: Ukrainian children cannot be frightened or broken. Today, I congratulate all Odesa residents on Knowledge Day. I wish inspiration, wisdom, and strength to teachers; patience and support to parents; and a thirst for knowledge and self-belief to our children. Together, we hold the future in our hands. And together, we are bringing closer the day when every school will operate under a peaceful sky", - said Hennadiy Trukhanov.
