The Dangers of Train Surfing: A Serious Warning
Since the beginning of the year, 8 cases of train surfing have been recorded in Ukraine, resulting in 9 children being injured. For a few seconds of video or thrill, teenagers put themselves in life-threatening situations.
But it’s important to remember:
Electricity, falls, or collisions with obstacles almost never give a second chance.
Why is train surfing not cool, but deadly?
With voltage up to 27,000 volts, even if you don't touch the wires, an electric shock can be instantaneous.
A fall from height – one sudden move, and life can change forever.
Collisions with obstacles – bridges, tunnels, supports at speeds of 60-100 km/h – this is fatal.
What to do if you see someone on a train or hanging off a vehicle?
- Notify the station dispatcher or railway workers.
- Call the UZ hotline: 0 800 503 111 (free).
- Call the National Police (102) or Emergency Service (101).
- Remember the location of the incident for accurate reporting to the authorities.
