Strategic Session on Southern Ukraine's Development

A strategic session focused on the development of southern regions of Ukraine was held in Odessa.

The event was chaired by Deputy Minister of Community Development Oleksiy Ryabikin.

Among the participants was the Deputy Mayor of Odessa Anna Pozdnyakova.

«Today's discussion is aimed at planning a future that takes into account the needs of the people and the potential of the territories. The integration of regional plans into the national development strategy is crucial for the country's recovery», noted Oleksiy Ryabikin.

During the session, participants discussed key challenges facing the regions and identified priority areas for resolution.

Particular focus was placed on the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, the agricultural sector, energy resilience, and the modernization of the port industry in the Odessa region.

Significant attention is also given to the modernization of social infrastructure, education, support for internally displaced persons (IDPs), accessibility, and social cohesion.

«Odessa remains a bastion of resilience and development even in the most challenging times. We are focusing our efforts on infrastructure modernization, community support, and strengthening energy security. Strategic planning is not just about the future; it is also about our ability to adapt to current challenges and create a solid foundation for recovery and prosperity in our region», - emphasized Anna Pozdnyakova.

This series of events is being conducted with support from UNDP Ukraine and financial assistance from the Government of Japan.
