New Initiative for Family Support in Odessa Region

28 November 2024

On November 27, 2024, Odessa's Deputy Mayor Pavel Vugelman held a working meeting with Audrey Lecomte, head of the UNICEF regional office in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the project «Resilient Families - A Sustainable Future: Transforming Child Care in the Odessa and Mykolaiv Regions» was presented, which is being implemented in partnership with the Odessa City Council.

The project aims to promote family-based care and create conditions that allow children to remain with their families.

Special attention is given to integrated services that will support not only children but also their families in difficult life situations.

«We are grateful to our partners at UNICEF for this important project, which will help create new opportunities for family support in the region. Together, we are working to ensure that every child has the right to grow up in a loving and caring family,» stated Pavel Vugelman.

During the meeting, the parties discussed establishing a working group to coordinate the implementation of the project.

The implementation of this initiative is set to be a significant step towards strengthening family resilience and ensuring the well-being of children in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions.
