Home Internet Provider Assessment in Ukraine: Vodafone vs. Kyivstar
nPerf, an independent French company, conducted a study of home internet offerings from Vodafone and "Kyivstar" in 2025 and found that the former provides better services for Ukrainians.
Unlike previous years, when more Ukrainian internet providers were compared, this year only Vodafone and "Kyivstar" were analyzed, with the latter falling behind in nearly all metrics.
According to the research, Vodafone boasts a higher average download speed of 200.48 Mbps compared to 109.04 Mbps for "Kyivstar". The upload speed is also better, with 196.4 Mbps against 127.8 Mbps.
Additionally, Vodafone shows superior web page loading speeds and more stable video streaming; however, in latency tests, "Kyivstar" has an advantage – 18.32 ms versus 22.40 ms for its competitor.
Despite Vodafone's better performance in most tests, "Kyivstar" remains the more popular choice among users. According to nPerf, the user share is distributed between the providers at a ratio of 66% to 34%.
At the same time, nPerf did not explain why only two providers were considered in this year's report. For comparison, in 2024, Vega was the market leader in home internet, and in previous years, Lanet held the top position.
It is also worth noting that at the beginning of last year, nPerf recognized Vodafone as the best mobile operator in Ukraine for 2024. This year's research, which will choose the winner for 2025, will be released in the coming weeks.
