Fire Incident in Odesa: Swift Response Prevents Casualties

On January 11, 2026, a fire broke out in a woodworking facility located in the Peresyp district of Odesa, near the 21 km mark of the Starokyivska road.
Firefighting efforts were hampered by strong winds. Due to heavy smoke, rescue workers had to wear protective breathing and vision gear. Thanks to the firefighters' efforts, nearby buildings were saved. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A total of 17 units of equipment and 52 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved in the operation.
Additionally, 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel from the Ukrainian Volunteer Firefighters Association were on the scene.
From the municipal agency «Municipal Guard», 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel were deployed, along with 1 unit and 3 personnel from the «Rescue Diver Service».
