Emergency Response to Rainfall in Odesa

Following the onset of prolonged rainfall, special equipment from the municipal enterprise «City Roads» was promptly deployed in Odesa to address potential flooding on city streets.

Currently, traffic on the city roads is unobstructed. Partially flooded are the 5th station of V. Fontan and Yarmarkova Street. A total of 344 specialists and 46 units of equipment are working on the streets.

During extended rainfall like today, specialized water pumping vehicles, including a high-pressure hydrodynamic unit based on a MAN truck, are traditionally stationed on streets: Balkivska, Prymorska, Yevhen Chykalenka, Heavenly Hundred, French Boulevard, and Customs Square, where flooding is usually possible during heavy rain.

Additionally, staff from the municipal enterprise «City Roads» are on the streets using excavators with special attachments or manually clearing storm drains and catch basins of debris, branches, and leaves carried there by rainwater flows.
