Safety Alert for Drivers and Pedestrians During Severe Weather Conditions
Attention residents of Odesa! The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns of prolonged rain, wet snow, and icy conditions. We urge everyone to adhere to safety measures.
Drivers are requested to carefully check the technical condition of their vehicles: brakes, lights, wipers, heating, and cooling systems. Never drive under the influence of alcohol. Always wear seatbelts, adhere to speed limits and maintain distance, avoid sudden maneuvers, do not ignore red traffic signals, drive with low beam headlights or fog lights on, and pay close attention to traffic conditions.
Pedestrians are advised to cross the road carefully and only at designated places, ensuring that there are no vehicles nearby or that drivers have noticed you and are stopping. Remember that braking distance increases significantly on slippery roads. At night and in low visibility conditions, use reflective elements to be more visible.
By following these recommendations, you can reduce the risk of traffic accidents and ensure safety for yourself and other road users.
If there is no urgent need to travel, it is better to stay at home and wait out the bad weather.
