Smart Energy Consumption During Winter
According to data from NEC "Ukrenergo", electricity consumption increases as temperatures drop. The energy system is still recovering from significant attacks.
The higher the device's power, the more electricity it consumes. A higher energy efficiency rating means less electricity use. Pay attention to the devices you purchase and use to save money and decrease the load on the energy system.
Intelligent electricity saving can prevent overloads in the power system and potential outages.
Energy experts' tips for saving electricity:
- Unplug devices when not in use (chargers, TVs in standby mode, etc.). Even in "sleep mode," household appliances consume a lot of electricity;
- Boil only the necessary amount of water to save time and energy;
- Run washing and dishwashing machines fully loaded and preferably at night after peak hours;
- Use energy-saving light bulbs and do not leave lights on in empty rooms;
- Charge smartphones and laptops at night when consumption is lowest.
Energy experts also remind not to use multiple high-power devices simultaneously during peak hours: in the morning from 07:00 to 11:00 and in the evening from 16:00 to 22:00.
