Gas Explosion in Odessa Apartment: Incident Report

On September 6, a gas-air mixture exploded in an apartment within a residential building in the Khadjibey district of Odessa. The incident occurred on the fourth floor of a building located on Ovidiopolskyi Road. The explosion caused a fire in the apartment and damage to balconies on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors.

The fire was extinguished over an area of 30 square meters. As a result of the explosion, a woman born in 1964 was injured and hospitalized in serious condition. The State Emergency Service deployed 7 units of equipment and 22 rescuers, while the Ukrainian Volunteer Firefighters Association sent one unit and 4 personnel. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation. Citizens are urged to strictly follow fire and safety regulations. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones!
