Tragedy at Sea: Drownings in Odesa Region

A tragedy has struck in the Odesa region where three people have drowned. Currently, rescuers are searching for a boy born in 2009. This incident occurred due to stormy weather conditions. The mayor of Chornomorsk, Vasyl Huliaiev, reported that 50 vacationers were saved during the storm.

According to the State Emergency Service, a boy went missing while swimming in Chornomorsk. The incident took place on Plyazhna Street yesterday, July 28. The rescuers received the report at 5:00 PM.

"A boy born in 2009 has gone missing at the central beach of the city. Due to the weather conditions (strong winds and large waves), the diving unit is unable to conduct search operations. The search began this morning," the agency stated.

In total, three people have drowned, as reported by medical staff. Mayor Vasyl Huliaiev also mentioned that 50 individuals were rescued yesterday.

He emphasized that all emergency services were operating in an extraordinary mode due to the storm to provide necessary assistance as quickly as possible. However, people often ignore basic safety rules at the beach.

He also warned that today, July 29, there will be a ban on swimming. Huliaiev urged everyone to adhere to safety regulations.
