07 July 2025

In Odesa, an unknown assailant set fire to the evacuation vehicle of medic Natalia Tarasova, who had been waiting for a transfer. The blaze destroyed all medical equipment, uniforms, and personal belongings, with damages estimated at 750,000 UAH.

Volunteer Kateryna Nozhevnikova reported the tragic event on Facebook, stating that the incident occurred two days ago while Natalia was temporarily in Odesa.

The fire not only consumed the vehicle but also all necessary equipment for Natalia's work on the front lines. Vital medical supplies, tactical gear, uniforms, and other equipment were lost.

“Last night, her medical evacuation vehicle was burned. Everything essential to Natalia's work was lost,” wrote Kateryna Nozhevnikova.

Natalia Tarasova noted that the vehicle was valuable even without considering the destroyed equipment, with total losses amounting to 750,000 UAH. The situation is further complicated as her son is currently on the front lines, and she has lost all means to fulfill her mission of rescuing injured soldiers.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to establish the circumstances of the arson and identify those responsible. Volunteer organizations have already begun fundraising to restore the medic's evacuation vehicle.
