Tragic Incident at the Black Sea Coast
Today, June 7, a tragic event occurred in the village of Zatoka, part of the Karolino-Buhaz community, during the afternoon hours.
Initial reports indicate that two men lost their lives due to the explosion of an unknown object while swimming in the sea.
The identities of the deceased are currently being established.
Law enforcement from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police, bomb disposal experts from the Odesa region's National Police, and emergency service personnel are on-site.
Investigators are working to determine the full circumstances of the incident, and decisions are being made regarding the entry of information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under paragraph 1 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, marked as a “tragic accident”.
The police urge residents and visitors to the Odesa region to strictly adhere to the rules of martial law: refrain from visiting the beach areas along the Black Sea coast that are prohibited. Please do not neglect safety measures and only relax on those beaches that have been inspected by specialists for the absence of dangerous items and allowed for visits.
