Scientific Conference on Rehabilitation in Odessa
A significant scientific conference addressing contemporary rehabilitation aspects has commenced in Odessa. The event is organized with the participation of the Odessa National Medical University and the Rehabilitation Management Association.
Over two days, top specialists will discuss pressing issues concerning the organization of rehabilitation assistance in Southern Ukraine, including: the implementation of patient-centered rehabilitation in cluster hospitals, collaboration between medical and non-medical rehabilitation service providers, the development of adaptive sports and physical rehabilitation, ensuring access to rehabilitation equipment, and the provision of social assistance.
Levon Nikogosyan, Director of the Health Department of the Odessa City Council, spoke about the development of a unified rehabilitation service system in the city.
Comprehensive assistance involves extensive collaboration among healthcare institutions of various ownership forms, social services, sports organizations, and non-governmental organizations. Eight municipal medical facilities are home to multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams, and a separate division has been established within the Health Department for effective coordination.
Medical institutions in Odessa have signed agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine, allowing them to provide outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, as well as free psychological support under the state medical guarantee program.
Odessa's healthcare professionals consistently adopt the best practices from Ukraine and around the globe to implement cutting-edge rehabilitation technologies and methods in the city's medical institutions.
«Rehabilitation assistance is one of the most crucial areas today. The consequences of war for our society can only be addressed through high-quality and effective rehabilitation,» emphasized Levon Nikogosyan, Director of the Health Department.
