Free Rehabilitation Services for Children Under Three

The rehabilitation of children born prematurely or with health issues is free for families of internally displaced persons.

Parents with the status of internally displaced persons can choose from any of the 128 hospitals and specialized rehabilitation centers contracted with the NSZU for their child's rehabilitation.

Free rehabilitation services for children from internally displaced families

The "Medical Rehabilitation for Infants Born Prematurely and/or Sick in Their First Three Years of Life" program includes the following free services:

• rehabilitation services provided regardless of the child's residence;

• early intervention services for families at their location and/or through telecommunications;

• developmental assessment of the child across five areas (gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, speech, and social-emotional development);

• screening for signs of autistic spectrum disorders;

• consultations with doctors from various specialties;

• referrals to other medical facilities for specialized care;

• selection and adaptation of special equipment and alternative communication aids for the child;

• assessment of the child's condition and the possibility of transitioning to the next rehabilitation stage with adjustments to the individual rehabilitation plan or early intervention family plan.

Parents or caregivers can receive free psychological support services and training in caring for and developing the child.

How to Access Rehabilitation Services for Children Under Three

Parents or caregivers need to:

- obtain an electronic referral for rehabilitation from a family or attending doctor;

- contact any medical facility with a contract for the "Medical Rehabilitation for Infants Born Prematurely and/or Sick in Their First Three Years of Life" package. If a child is being transferred from one hospital to another, no referral is needed.

- use the online map on the NSZU website.
