Mental Health Awareness Day in Odesa
Last week, Odesa held an event dedicated to raising awareness and caring for mental health for adults and children.
This event was organized in connection with World Mental Health Day with the support of the Odesa City Health Department and the local health center.
During this day, family doctors, pediatricians, and psychologists engaged with adult patients and parents, emphasizing the importance of mental health care and offering recommendations for maintaining it.
If necessary, doctors referred patients to psychologists located in Odesa's medical institutions as part of the nationwide mental health program “How are you?” for free psychological assistance.
As a result of the event, over 550 residents received consultations, including about 450 adults and more than 100 children. Additionally, psychologists provided 115 consultations.
To further reach the community, outreach events were held in public spaces such as parks and recreational areas, allowing participants to gain advice on mental health preservation and engage in workshops and interactive games for children. Approximately 500 people attended these outreach activities, including over 150 children.
