Cystoscopy: The Importance of Early Detection
Last year, more than 2500 cystoscopic procedures were performed in Odessa. This examination allows for the inspection of the mucous membranes of the urethra, bladder, and ureters using a cystoscope, which helps detect oncological diseases at early stages.
It is recommended that individuals over 50 undergo cystoscopy regularly, even in the absence of complaints. If a patient is younger than 50 but the doctor deems it necessary, they should obtain a referral to schedule an appointment at a facility equipped for cystoscopy.
Cystoscopy is included in the state medical guarantees program and is performed free of charge with a referral from a family or treating physician.
Modern cystoscopy equipment has been purchased for medical institutions in Odessa using city budget funds. The procedure can be done for free by appointment at the following addresses:
- Consultative-Diagnostic Center No. 6 — Dobrovoltsiv St. (Marshal Hovorov), 26a;
- City Clinical Hospital No. 10 — Oleksii Vadaturskyi St. (Marshal Malynovskyi), 61;
- City Clinical Hospital No. 11 — Vitalii Nesterenko St. (Academician Vorobyov), 5.
