Emergency Team Saves Life: Heroic Actions in Podilsk

10 November 2025

Recently, team No. 701 of the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance responded to a critical call in Podilsk — a woman had suddenly lost consciousness and ceased breathing. According to her husband, she had previously complained of difficulty breathing, a feeling of suffocation, and sudden panic. The medics arrived on the scene within moments. The patient was unresponsive, with no breathing or pulse detected. This was reported by the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine.

The team immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The monitor displayed pulseless electrical activity. For 36 continuous minutes, the team of professionals fought to save the woman's life.

Fortunately, their efforts were successful. Spontaneous heartbeat was restored, the patient was stabilized, provided with post-resuscitation support, and transported to Podilsk City Hospital for further treatment.

The life was saved by team No. 701, consisting of paramedic Volodymyr Pleshivyy, paramedic Oleksandr Vasyurin, and emergency medical technician Maksym Tkach.

«Their professionalism, composure, and coordinated actions exemplify a true team where every second counts. These results also reflect the effectiveness of the ongoing training and drills conducted by our Center. Regular sessions, practicing resuscitation skills, and teamwork enable our specialists to act confidently even in the most challenging situations, where the cost of a mistake is human life. We thank our colleagues for saving a life, their daily dedication, and commitment to the profession!» — stated the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine.
