Innovations in Drone Technology: New Autonomy Levels

02 December 2025

The Ukrainian company VYRIY has introduced a new software mode called "cruise control" for its drones, enhancing their resilience against electronic warfare. This mode allows unmanned aerial vehicles to maintain a stable speed and altitude without constant operator intervention. In case of a communication loss, the drone continues to fly along a predetermined path, and upon re-establishing control, the operator can adjust the course and altitude.
This functionality enables drones to navigate through areas affected by both friendly and enemy electronic warfare, minimizing the risk of uncontrolled descent and optimizing energy consumption. This feature will allow for reduced mission costs. Starting December 1, 2025, the new mode will be available on all drone models at no extra charge.
"We implemented this technology at the request of the military, and we anticipate an increase in drone effectiveness by approximately 20%," said VYRIY engineers.
The technology has already undergone testing and successful field trials with combat units.
Additionally, VYRIY has launched a scholarship program for future engineers in the defense sector, providing financial support to 35 talented students for six months.
