New Features in ChatGPT with GPT-4.1 Models

OpenAI has introduced the latest models GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini in ChatGPT. The GPT-4.1 model is now available for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, while the mini version is accessible to all users, including those without a subscription.

The company highlights that GPT-4.1 performs better in coding and debugging tasks and executes instructions more rapidly compared to earlier versions. Additionally, OpenAI has announced the discontinuation of support for GPT-4o mini.

The GPT-4.1 models were first made available in the API in April 2025, but the company faced criticism due to the lack of a safety report. In response, OpenAI clarified that GPT-4.1 is not a "cutting-edge model" and therefore does not require separate validation like more powerful systems.
