Celebrating Elena Shevchenko: A Jazz Evening

On November 8, 2024, the International Cultural Center UNION hosted an anniversary evening for the renowned host of international jazz competitions, Elena Shevchenko, titled 'Jazz and Beyond.'

For her significant contributions to cultural and artistic development, Elena received a valuable gift from the Mayor of Odessa and a Letter of Appreciation from the Department of Culture.

A musicologist and lecturer at the College of Arts and Culture, Elena is recognized as an expert in the history of music and jazz. She is the founder of the VKO Jazz Club and various jazz projects, earning her the title 'Lady Jazz.'

During the creative evening, her students and colleagues showcased a variety of jazz performances. Young musicians from Arts Schools No. 1, 3, and 4 took the stage.

As per tradition, the evening concluded with a spectacular jam session, leaving a memorable impact on everyone present.
