Cultural Development in Odesa: Recent Achievements and Strategies
A two-day closing event of the EU4Culture project is taking place in Chișinău (Moldova), aimed at supporting cultural development in Eastern Partnership countries – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
Representatives from cities, artists, and cultural sector professionals have gathered to present their Strategies developed under the EU4Culture initiative. Participants are exchanging experiences and discussing the building of national and international partnerships.
"Odesa joined the project only in mid-2023, but within a year it has achieved significant and systemic results,"
- stated Ivan Liptuga, Director of the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and Eurointegration of the Odesa City Council.
He shared insights about the "Odesa Cultural Development Strategy 2025-2035" – a document that will serve as a foundation for the city's cultural sector, along with other important initiatives:
- a guide for preserving Odesa's cultural heritage;
- a manual for designing signboards;
- visualization of Odesa’s symbols – creating 3D models of iconic city symbols and others.
The strategic vision for cultural development in Odesa has been crafted in cooperation with cultural practitioners, representatives of creative industries, and NGOs. The document will be submitted to the Odesa City Council for consideration.
