Night Fires in Ukraine: Aftermath of the Attack

On the night of April 24, Ukrainian rescuers extinguished about 40 fires across 9 regions, caused by a massive attack from Russia involving missiles and drones. In Zhytomyr, one rescuer was injured due to a subsequent strike.

Direct quote from the minister: "This night, the State Emergency Service rescuers worked to extinguish around 40 fire outbreaks in 9 regions. Kyiv and the region, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia faced massive combined strikes from Russia."

Kyiv suffered the most: rescuers worked at 13 locations. As of 7:30, there were 9 confirmed deaths and over 70 injuries due to the strikes.

Details: According to Klymenko, the liquidation efforts continued under the threat of further shelling.

"In Zhytomyr, the enemy struck again at the SES unit that had arrived to extinguish the fire. A 39-year-old rescuer was injured," Klymenko concluded.
