Breach of Trust: Medical Worker Charged with Treason in Odesa

The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has filed an indictment against a medical worker suspected of treason (Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigations revealed that the accused voluntarily aided Russian operatives in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine. He anticipated a leadership position in the occupying administration should the region be captured.

The individual provided the aggressor with information about the locations of the personnel of the Territorial Defense Forces, the State Border Guard Service, and the Maritime Guard in the Izmail district.

Additionally, he was tasked with monitoring vessel movements in the local port and the types of cargo being transported.

This information was used by the invaders to plan new strikes in the Odesa region.

Specific details regarding the positions of Ukrainian defenders and military infrastructure, including building locations and geographical coordinates, were relayed to an FSB officer via a messaging app.

The agent was apprehended in August 2024, and during a search, a mobile phone containing evidence of his criminal activities was seized.

Currently, he remains in custody at the request of the prosecution.

The investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
