Russian Air Attack: Latest Developments and Outcomes
On the night of July 8 to 9, the Russian Federation launched a large-scale attack using 741 airborne assault tools. Of these, 718 were neutralized by air defense systems, while the Air Forces recorded hits in 4 locations and the downing of objects at 14 sites.

Details: From 8 PM on July 8, the enemy employed:
- 728 strike drones of the Shahed type and various imitation drones from the directions of: Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo - RF;
- 7 cruise missiles of the type X-101 and "Iskander-K" from the Engels and Kursk regions - RF;
- 6 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 "Kinzhal" from the airspace of Lipetsk region - RF.
- The primary target of the strike was the city of Lutsk in the Volyn region.
As of 8 AM, preliminary data indicated that air defense had neutralized 718 enemy aerial devices, with 303 being shot down by fire means and 415 lost location-wise:
- 296 enemy Shahed drones (other types of UAVs) were shot down, and 415 location-wise lost/suppressed by EW;
- 7 cruise missiles X-101 and "Iskander-K" - shot down.
Hits of enemy aerial devices were recorded in 4 locations, as well as the downing of objects at 14 locations.
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
