Incident with Train Odessa-Zaporizhzhia: Latest Updates

A hostile strike on the Odessa-Zaporizhzhia train prompted an immediate response from rescue services. Passengers were moved to a safe location as an air raid alert continues in the area. This was reported by the Ukrzaliznytsia press service.

"Train No. 52 Odessa-Zaporizhzhia has suffered damage due to a terrorist attack by Russian forces. Emergency medical teams and rescuers are on-site providing assistance to those injured. Passengers were quickly relocated to shelters for their safety," the statement reads.

Ukrzaliznytsia also mentioned plans to arrange replacement transport to transfer passengers to Zaporizhzhia. Governor Serhiy Lysak noted that civilian infrastructure has been damaged, including a dormitory and a gymnasium. Many individuals were injured, and unfortunately, there are fatalities.

Update on the situation:

"Fortunately, there were no casualties among passengers and railway staff on train No. 52. However, those who were injured are receiving medical assistance. To facilitate travel to Zaporizhzhia, Ukrzaliznytsia has scheduled an additional electric train to depart from Dnipro around 1:00 PM," the press service reported.
