Ukrainian Boxing Championship for Boys and Girls (2011-2012)
From November 3 to 11, the village of Boyany in Chernivtsi region hosted the Ukrainian boxing championship for boys and girls born in 2011-2012. A total of 370 young athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine participated in the event.
Odessa was represented by athletes from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 8, Oleksandr Shchupak, and the boxing club 'Livsha', Ismail Ismailov.
Oleksandr Shchupak competed in the 80 kg category, achieving victory in three bouts and becoming the Ukrainian champion among boys. His coaches, Volodymyr Osipchuk and Ihor Hordienko, played a vital role in his training.
In the 54 kg category, Ismail Ismailov also secured three victories, winning a gold medal. He was coached by the honored trainers of Ukraine Nureddin Alibeyli and Azer Mustafaev.
The Odessa regional team also claimed victory in the overall standings among boys. The champions of this competition will be included in the reserve for the national boxing team of Ukraine.
