New Horizons: Ukrainian Judo Championship for Cadets

On November 22-23, Uzhgorod held the Ukrainian Judo Championship for cadets under 17.

Over two days, nearly 600 athletes from 23 regions of Ukraine competed on the tatami at the Uzhgorod Scientific Lyceum sports complex, vying for 17 sets of medals.

In the overall team standings, the Odesa team, comprising athletes from Youth Sports Schools No. 4 and No. 15, as well as the regional Judo and Rugby Sports School, finished in third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

The championship winners were the representatives from Kyiv (5-4-4), with the Dnipropetrovsk team coming in second (3-1-5).

Odesa athletes also contributed to the team's success, with Valeriya Kanikivska (70 kg) and Kyrylo Vasylynych (73 kg) winning silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Coach Serhiy Yermakov prepared the athletes for this significant competition.
