Mini Basketball Festival in Odesa
On January 5, the sports hall of the Odesa Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve named after Boris Litvak hosted the annual mini basketball festival as part of the NOC Ukraine project ‘Do like Olympians’.
This sporting event during the New Year season has become a cherished tradition and was held for the fourth time this year.
The main stars of the festival, alongside the young players, were the leading teams of the Odesa region: the men’s team ‘BIPA-Odesa’ (head coach - Oleksandr Riabchuk, captain - Dmytro Solovey) and the women’s team ‘Interchem-SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak’ (head coach - Iryna Shchypakina, captain - Svitlana Baturina).
About two hundred basketball players aged 7 and older representing various sports schools and clubs from Odesa participated in the event.
Children enjoyed quizzes and workshops featuring renowned players. At the end of the event, all participants received gifts - New Year sweets from the Odesa city and regional basketball federations, as well as Olympic memorabilia from the NOC of Ukraine in the Odesa region. The SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak received a set of basketballs.
The event was organized by the Odesa City Basketball Federation, the NOC of Ukraine in the Odesa region, the Odesa Regional Basketball Federation, and the SDYUSSHOR named after Boris Litvak.
