Sambo Tournament in Odesa: Honoring Robert Babayanets

From October 10 to 12, 2025, Odesa hosted a Sambo tournament dedicated to the memory of the renowned coach Robert Babayanets.
Approximately 100 athletes from various regions of Ukraine participated, including Odesa, Kyiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, and Mykolaiv regions.
The tournament featured individual and team competitions in the format of “Wall to Wall” for boys born in 2011–2013 and 2014–2016.
The overall victory went to the team from Odesa, with Kyiv taking second place and Zhytomyr region securing the third spot.
Team matches in the “Wall to Wall” format were also held:
- 1st place — team “Tatami” (Odesa);
- 2nd place — team “Fanat” (Chornomorsk);
- 3rd place — team “Tigers” (Odesa);
- 4th place — team “Gorillas” (Kyiv).
This tournament, honoring the memory of the renowned coach, has been held annually since 2011.
