Outstanding Achievements of Ukrainian Swimmers at the World Championship

From August 19 to 24, 2025, the 10th World Junior Swimming Championship took place in Otopeni, Romania.
Over 600 athletes from more than 80 countries participated in the competition.
Among the Ukrainian team was Nikita Sheremet, a student of the Odessa Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve «Dynamo» swimming.
In the semifinals of the 50m freestyle, the Odessa swimmer claimed victory, setting a national record for juniors and matching the junior world record at 21.75 seconds.
Nikita also won the final race, becoming the world champion in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 21.99 seconds, outpacing competitors from Great Britain and Italy.
The athlete was coached by trainers Alla Timofeeva and Oleksandra Kurbanova.
