Ukrainian Muay Thai Championship Kicks Off in Odessa

The Ukrainian Muay Thai Championship for youth, juniors, and boys has officially started in Odessa. More than 260 athletes from 15 regions of Ukraine are taking part in the competition.

The Wai Kru performance drew particular attention — a traditional dance that symbolizes respect for coaches, parents, and the martial art itself.

Young athletes were greeted by esteemed guests, including the honorary president of the National Muay Thai Federation and Odessa's mayor, Gennady Trukhanov:

«You are already champions because you have chosen strength, resilience, and dignity over easier paths. Train hard, pour your heart into it — and the results will speak for themselves. It is individuals like you who build a strong Ukraine».

The championship will last several days, with many exciting matches still to come.

The national selection winners will represent Ukraine at the world championship in September, as well as participate in other international tournaments.
