Triumph of Odesans: Young Athletes Reap a Harvest of Awards in Greece

The European Wushu Championship took place in Heraklion, Greece, featuring 650 athletes from 29 European nations.

The Ukrainian national team was represented by students from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 1.

European champions included: Andriy Oliynyk (single short weapon), Erika Chen (traditional fist), Iryna Mizina (contact matches, Tuishou), and double champion Sofia Osadchuk (contact matches, Tuishou and fist, Baczicyuan).

Silver medals were won by: Erika Chen (single short weapon), Iryna Mizina (single long weapon), Sofia Osadchuk (traditional fist), and double silver medalist Sofia Burlya (traditional fist and single short weapon), Ariadna Pavlyuchenko (pair weapon), and Roman Nedin (pair weapon).

Bronze medals were awarded to Valeriya Blahodyr (single short weapon), Andriy Oliynyk (traditional fist), Erika Chen (traditional fist), Sofia Osadchuk (single long weapon), Marina Yazyikova (pair weapon), Sofia Tatarenko (pair weapon), Ariadna Pavlyuchenko (traditional fist), and Roman Nedin (traditional fist).

The athletes were coached by: Leonid Borysov, Hanna Borysova, Darya Metka, Iryna Ihumenova, and Darya Pylypenko.
