Odesa Schools to Resume In-Person Classes on April 14

14 April 2025

Students in Odesa are set to return to in-person learning starting Monday, April 14, provided that classroom temperatures are above 17 degrees. Each school will make this decision independently.

This information was provided on April 13 by the head of the city’s education department, Olena Buynevych.

Homeroom teachers are tasked with informing parents about the conditions in their schools.

“Today, temperature checks will be conducted in all schools. If the temperature is higher than +17°C, we will resume in-person classes. School directors and teachers are just as eager for in-person learning as are the parents and students. The end of last week confirmed that the decision to shift to remote learning was correct, so we are following the health regulations,” Buynevych stated.

It should be noted that due to a sharp drop in temperature, Odesa schools switched to remote learning starting April 8. This decision caused outrage among parents who believe that children should attend school.
