Mental Health Support in Educational Institutions of Odesa

04 December 2024

In November, a series of events were held in Odesa's educational institutions to support the mental health of participants in the educational process under the national program «How Are You?».

Students participated in communication sessions with training elements on topics such as «Preserving Mental Health. The World of Emotions – Our Resource» and «Mental Health – The Key to a Happy Life». Class hours were dedicated to «How Are You?», «Emotions and Their Impact», «Everything is in Our Hands», and «Rules of Friendship». Activities included games like «World of Emotions» and «First Aid Kit», as well as roundtable discussions on «Preserving and Restoring Mental Health. Help and Self-Help» and interactive exercises such as «Mood Diary» and «Support Circle».

Students who relocated from temporarily occupied territories engaged in discussions titled «My Mental Health», participated in physical activity lessons, and took part in collective creative exercises under the program «How Are You?».

Parents and educators attended workshops on «Safe Space», discussing children's psycho-emotional state at the beginning of the school year. Individual consultations and informational materials were provided regarding supporting children's mental health and their adaptation to the learning environment.

To ensure access to information and helpful advice on mental health, materials from the «How Are You?» program were published on the websites of educational institutions, along with QR codes for information and recommendations for parents and teachers.
