Zelensky Calls for a Lasting Ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's statement regarding a "ceasefire" from May 8 to 10, emphasizing that Ukraine needs not a temporary "ceasefire" for the sake of a parade in Moscow, but a full and immediate cessation of hostilities for at least 30 days.

Details: In his address, the president highlighted that Ukraine did not seek a single second of this war and is ready to collaborate with all partners to establish peace and ensure security. In contrast, Russia continually rejects such initiatives and manipulates the global community, attempting to deceive, particularly the United States.
According to the president, the ceasefire must not be temporary or convenient for Russia, but immediate, comprehensive, and unconditional, lasting at least 30 days.
Direct quote: "Now there's yet another attempt at manipulation: for some reason, everyone is supposed to wait until May 8 to cease fire, so that Putin can have silence during the parade.
We value human lives, not parades. That’s why we believe – the world believes – that there’s no reason to wait until May 8. The fire must be stopped not for just a few days, only to kill again. An immediate, comprehensive, and unconditional ceasefire – for at least 30 days to ensure reliability – is what can lay the foundation for real diplomacy."
