Financial Literacy Among Teenagers in Ukraine: Research Findings
The study of financial literacy levels among teenagers in Ukraine indicated that youth possess fundamental knowledge in this area.
This information was provided by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The research revealed that the average score of correct answers to case questions among teenagers stands at 46.6%,
equivalent to 3 points on a 12-point school grading scale.
The highest results were shown by students from Dnipropetrovsk (57.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (53.7%) regions, and Kyiv city (50.4%).
The lowest results were recorded in Kirovohrad (37.4%), Mykolaiv (39.7%), and Chernivtsi (41.4%) regions.
Girls achieved better results (47.4%) compared to boys (45.6%). The scores for urban and rural school students were 48% and 40%, respectively.
Notably, no participant provided 100% correct answers to all cases presented.
The study was conducted by specialists from the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O. Yaremenko in April 2024. The sample of participants was formed by employees of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Educational Analytics".
During the research, over 3,000 students aged 14 to 17 from 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv were tested.
