International Delegation Visits Odesa

06 December 2024

An international delegation from the UN, including representatives from the UN Development Programme (UNDP), UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and UN Population Fund (UNFPA), is currently visiting Odesa.

This visit, organized by UNDP in Ukraine, brought together five UN ambassadors and other distinguished guests as part of the collaboration with UNOPS and UNFPA.

During their working visit, the delegation toured various projects supported by the UN.

The city mayor expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Odesa, particularly in the reconstruction of one of the departments at Hospital No. 8.

Gennady Trukhanov noted that this facility is a regular hospital and does not provide emergency care. However, it has already saved numerous lives, including patients brought in from conflict areas who required urgent medical attention, thanks to the highly skilled staff working in excellent conditions and with state-of-the-art equipment.

The meeting participants also discussed further collaboration, including attracting international investments for infrastructure projects, such as the reconstruction of sewage and drainage systems and the construction of housing for internally displaced persons.
