Courageous Action: Ukrainian Machine Gunner Takes Down Enemy Drone

On the night of October 12 to 13, Ivan, a machine gunner from the mobile fire group of the Air Command «South», successfully shot down an enemy strike UAV known as «Shahed» in the Odesa region. This was reported in a post by the «South» command.

This marks the sixth downed drone credited to this defender.

«We operated in tandem with spotter Sergey, as we always do – precisely and in sync,» Ivan mentioned.

Before the full-scale invasion, 31-year-old Ivan was a diver at industrial sites and also worked as a diving instructor in his hometown of Odesa. In May 2022, he rejoined the unit where he previously served under contract.

«Discipline and endurance are qualities that matter both in my former job and in the military. They must be developed regardless of circumstances. My colleagues and I constantly focus on training, maintain our weapons and equipment, and practice different scenarios. We keep ourselves in shape and give our best!» the sky defender remarked.
