Advancing Accessibility: New Initiatives in Ukraine
On April 30, 2025, an important meeting took place in Kyiv at the Ministry of Community Development regarding the implementation of the flagship project “Movement Without Barriers.” The meeting was chaired by Oleksiy Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Attendees included representatives from the President's Office, local administrations, and self-government authorities, notably Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the President's Office, and advisor Iryna Maliutina.
Odesa was represented by City Mayor Advisor Oleksiy Morozov, who, along with Oleksandr Zhyltcov, the Director of the Department of Internal Policy, showcased achievements within the city's Accessibility Strategy.
Furthermore, Odesa has been selected as one of the pilot communities participating in the Ministry's project, which is part of the First Lady Olena Zelenska's strategy “Without Barriers,” aimed at creating accessible routes in key cities across the country.
“We are already seeing practical results from the implementation of the Accessibility Strategy. Under Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov's directive, we are working to ensure the city’s infrastructure is convenient and accessible for every resident,” said Oleksiy Morozov.
