Teenagers' Dangerous Pranks: What Parents Should Know

22 April 2025

Fortunately, no one was harmed due to the reckless actions of the teenagers. Law enforcement conducted preventive measures with the children and filed administrative protocols against the parents. They face fines.

Recently, during an internet monitoring operation, police discovered a video in a messaging group showing four teenagers mixing household chemicals in a bottle and throwing it onto the landing, resulting in an explosion.

After registering the incident, juvenile inspectors from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police department identified and located the boys.

The police found out that the 12-year-old local friends repeated an experiment they saw on one of the social media platforms for fun.

“These families had not been previously noticed by law enforcement. We warned the teens about the dangers of such antics and reminded the parents of their duty to raise their sons and monitor how they spend their free time. We filed protocols against the adults under part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses, which qualifies parental neglect in ensuring proper living, learning, and upbringing conditions for minors. This offense carries a fine of up to 1,700 UAH. The administrative materials have been sent to court,” commented the head of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police department, Pavlo Bobchynskyi.

The police urge parents to pay more attention to their children, explaining the dangers posed by household chemicals and other explosive substances, as well as the consequences of unlawful actions.
