Advancements in Agricultural Industry in Odesa Region: New Initiatives

The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, held a meeting with Andriy Dykun, the head of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, to discuss critical issues concerning the development of the agricultural sector in Odesa.

During the meeting, the focus was on enhancing export control, which is already yielding positive results in combating the shadow grain market. New requirements mandate a mandatory verification of the legality of grain origin at all stages of its acquisition to obtain an export permit. Andriy Dykun noted that such a system significantly reduced the volumes of illegal products and increased market transparency.

«Farmers support these changes as they help reduce demand for grain without proper documentation. We are seeing an increase in interest in obtaining legal documents, which indicates the effectiveness of the system. We hope this approach will be implemented in other regions of Ukraine,» commented the head of the Agricultural Council.

Another important topic was ensuring fairness in paying the minimum tax obligation (MTO).
Positive shifts were noted, but it was also recognized that the current system allows some unscrupulous entrepreneurs to evade MTO payments. They agreed to enhance control in this area.

Oleg Kiper thanked Andriy Dykun for the constructive dialogue and confirmed that the regional administration would continue to support initiatives that promote a transparent agricultural sector in the region.
